Ahuja Blasts Sherman Over Trump & Deportations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Candidate for Congress Chris Ahuja Blasts Brad Sherman’s Dangerous Remarks on Trump Third Term and Deportations as Three U.S. Citizen Children — Including a Cancer Patient — Are Deported Without Due Process or Medical Consultation

LOS ANGELES, CA – Chris Ahuja, candidate for Congress in California’s 32nd District (CD-32), blasted Brad Sherman for making reckless and dangerous comments that Ahuja says expose Sherman’s blatant disregard for the threats facing our democracy and the most basic standards of human decency.

Following the heartbreaking deportation of three U.S. citizen children — including a young girl battling Stage 4 metastatic cancer — Sherman shamelessly joked about being deported while recklessly normalizing the idea of a Trump third term — a statement Ahuja called “deeply disturbing,” and “willfully ignorant.” In a FOX News interview, Sherman mocked being deported by the Trump Administration. Referring to U.S. citizens the White House deems “bad people,” Sherman quipped, “If we find ourselves in El Salvador, we’ll have a soccer league.”

"Brad Sherman’s comments are morally bankrupt and disgraceful," said Ahuja. "There are sick and innocent children being deported from the only country they have ever called home. When American children with cancer are being deported without medical consultation or due process, the last thing we need is a Member of Congress making jokes about it. We need leaders who will fight back – and fight for our children. Brad Sherman has failed that test. I’m running for Congress because our families deserve better — someone who will stand up for children, stand up for democracy, and stand firm against cruelty and complacency.”

“There is absolutely no room for appeasers and enablers in Congress. How dare Brad Sherman make pathetic jokes and spineless excuses while our rights and our children’s futures are under attack."

Sherman also went on to suggest that the 2026 elections could “sanctify” the president’s first two years — even stating that “it may be our last election.”

Ahuja is a father, small business owner, and proud San Fernando Valley resident. He is running for Congress in California’s 32nd district to stand up for democratic values and revitalize active engagement with the district and beyond as a fighter for the people.

Ahuja is passionate about policies that drive economic growth and job creation, including tax incentives for businesses, investments in infrastructure, and support for green energy and new technologies. “I’m not a career politician. I’m a fighter,” Ahuja said. “This election is about choosing leaders who understand the stakes and who won’t treat threats to democracy as a punchline. While others make jokes, I’m focused on real policies that drive progress for our communities. We cannot allow a Trump third term — it’s not an option.”

Ahuja’s policy platform includes an "Abundance Agenda" to foster economic growth, innovation, and opportunity to create a more prosperous and equitable society.
